  PORKIES:说谎

  说谎。起源于伦敦佬押韵俚语,是“porky pies”的缩写,跟lies谐音。

  例句:

  Don't listen to her, she's telling porkies!

  别听她的鬼话,她在撒谎!

  ROW:争论

  争论,与“Cow”是谐音。

  例句:

  My brother had a huge row with his girlfriend yesterday. He's really upset!

  哥哥昨天跟女朋友大吵了一架。他真的很生气!

  DONKEY'S YEARS:许多年

  如果有人跟你说"I haven't seen you in donkey's years",说明你们很久没见了。

  例句:

  Hi Sarah! What a surprise to see you here. I haven’t seen you in donkey’s years! How have you been?

  萨拉!没想到会在这遇见。好多年没见过你了!你怎么样?

  EASY PEASY:超简单

  一个孩子气的表述,描述某事很容易。

  例句:

  I could make that for you, if you like? It's easy peasy!

  如果可以,我能为你做吗?这很容易!

  SORTED:已解决的

  如果有人问起一项你已解决的问题,那么你可以这么说。

  例句:

  -What's happening about that roof leak then?

  -Oh that's sorted now. I found a really good builder to do the job.

  —那个漏水的屋顶怎么样了?

  —噢,这个问题现在已经解决了。我找了一个建筑能手修缮它。

  STROP:悲伤

  如果有人不开心或难过,那么可以说“being stroppy”或“throwing a strop”。

  例句:

  Janet, would you please cheer up? It's your birthday, don't be so stroppy!

  CHEERIO:拜拜

  This is a friendly way of saying goodbye

  用来描述某人运气绝佳。

  例句:

  BLINDING:极好的

  “a blinding success”,说明某事很棒。

  例句:

  They had a blinding party after their wedding ceremony. Everyone had such a great time!

  WONKY:不稳定

  不稳的,摇晃的。

  例句:

  I can't eat my dinner at this table. It's wonky and won't stop wobbling!

  如果某人“zonked”或“zonked out”,证明他们极度疲累、筋疲力尽。
