Starbucks named its first chief executive officer for China on Oct. 19, also announcing plans to operate 5,000 mainland stores by 2021. To achieve that goal, the coffee giant will open 500 new stores in China every year.
10月19日,星巴克任命了首位中国首席执行官,也宣布计划到2021年经营5000家大陆商店。为了实现这一目标,咖啡巨头每年将在中国开设500家新店。
Belinda Wongwill become the company’s CEO of China, promoted from her former position as regional president. Besides focusing on overall long-term growth, Wong will be responsible for key areas including the 2017 opening of the first international Starbucks Roastery and Reserve Tasting Room in Shanghai. Wong will also oversee digital and e-commerce strategies across the market.
王静瑛从以前中国区总裁的职务晋升为公司的中国首席执行官。除了专注于整体长期的发展,王将负责关键的领域,包括2017年在上海开设第一个国际精品烘焙品尝室。王还将监督整个市场的数字化和电子商务战略。
Howard Schultz, chairman and CEO of Starbucks, said on a CNBC show on Wednesday that he believes in the Chinese economy and the buying power of Chinese consumers, adding that the company believes "these are the early days for Starbucks in China."
星巴克董事长兼首席执行官霍华德.舒尔茨周三在CNBC节目上表示,他相信中国经济和中国消费者的购买力,他补充说,该公司认为“这些都是星巴克在中国的初期发展。”
Starbucks first entered China in 1999.After 17years, the company now operates more than 2,300 cafes in 100-plus cities.

Chinese coffee consumption has nearly tripled in the past four years, according to the United States Department of Agriculture, faster than any other major market that the agency tracks.
