【学校通知】:the university is considering moving the student theater center from campus to the nearby downtown

好处1downtown theater has a larger spaceand it can contain more audiences。好处2the new theater will have better technical facilitiesso that students can get better light and sound while they are appreciating performances

1. audiences in the downtown theater are mainly studentsIt is quite inconvenient for them to drive for 20 min to get there to see performancesso few of them would like to go to the new theater

理由2the facilities in school theater are quite basic and easy to operateHowever, students are not professional and well-trained, and the facilities in downtown theater will be too complex for students to operateSo, students might end up with worse lights and sounds than what they have nowSo, better facilities are not necessary

现象是:the university is considering about moving the students performance theater off the campus to downtown area for more audiences and better facilities.

态度:The man does not support the idea. He gives tow reasons. The first reason is that their audiences are mainly students. It is quite inconvenient for students to go to downtown to see the performance. Secondly, the students in the man’s department are not professionals and well-trained. The facilities in downtown theatre are too complex for them to operate. And the facilities in school theatre are quite basic and easy.

B.学校能通过更多位子卖更多票增加收入-反对:收入个毛,这是big investment, construction cost a lot, 而且take years去收回老本。

Reading: University is going to cancel its lecture series.

2 reasons: 1) low students’ attendance rates.

2) Expensive to pay professor’s housing.

Male student disagrees with the announcement because he had a good time there. He thinks it is the advertising problem. The university only put the information on its website and not too many students will see. He suggest to hang out posters which can be seen everywhere on campus. In the letter the student suggests the school to remove the big-screen TV in the cafeteria because it is too noisy. Some students usually study there. And also students usually discuss with each other there. But now nobody discuss questions there.

In the conversation, the man disagrees with the suggestion in the letter for two reasons. First, the TV is for students to relax. If students want to study, they should go to library. Second, students are big enough to make decision for themselves and no need discuss with others.

Listen material

1this suggestion is especially good for the first year students who needs some time to get adjusted to their college life. Both the way to live and the study pace are different from that of a high schoolStudents, especially for 1st year student. 理由2:期中midterm很忙,一个星期考几门exams,有时候they will also have so many projects or research papers to complete。学生们可use the time to do assignment and researchfinish their projects and papersThe male student gives an example of his history class

6Waiting Time
但对商业行为而言,关键并不是实际等待的时间,而是感知等待时间conceived waiting time,就是the time that consumers think they are waiting.

Let the consumers have something to do.

2)告诉顾客他们实际上等待了多久tell them the real waiting time。
问题:什么是conceived waiting time以及商家reduce conceived waiting time的策略。

二是migrating animal tend to move in straight line
