在托福写作中，有一个经常困惑小伙伴的一个问题。那就是：我的用词是不是越复杂分数越高？其实，对于一篇书面文章来说，用词的准确得体肯定是被优先考虑的，其次是多样性。

在官方指南中，评分标准也包含对用词要求的表述：

所以想要提高托福写作的一大方法，就是避免重复用词！如果不是为了修辞需要（比如排比和强调），我们应该尽量减少写作中的重复用词。

1. famous people 名人替换词：celebrities （单数为 celebrity）

2. opinion 观点替换词：perspective / standpoint (means looking at an event or situation in a particular way)

3. complex 复杂的替换词：intricate (if something is intricate, it often has many small parts and details)

5. person 人替换词：individual

6. friends 朋友、同伴替换词：companions

7. enemy 敌人替换词：opponent / foe

8. narrow minds 狭隘的头脑或观念替换词：insular minds

9. boring 无聊的替换词：tedious (if you describe something tedious, you mean it is boring and frustrating)
