　　table：桌子的统称, 可指各种形状、各种用途的桌子。

　　desk：一般指学习办公用的，通常有抽屉。

　　在哈尔滨过冬，必须有一件暖和的大衣。

　　4hospital vs. clinic

　　hospital：规模比较大，综合性强的医院，接收病人入院治疗。

　　clinic：一般指专攻一个类别的疾病医院，比如牙科医院dental clinic，计生医院family planning clinic (中文也可以理解为诊所)

　　She was in hospital for 2 weeks after the accident.

　　在事故之后，她在医院住了两周。

　　He went to a special clinic to cure his drinking and overeating.

　　他去一个专门的诊所戒酒并控制饮食。
