1. Throw yourself in at the deep end

　　深临其境

　　Many people will look you in the eye and tell you with utter conviction that the only way to learn is to move to the country of your target language. This isn’t strictly true, but it obviously makes immersion more likely. You still have to seek out opportunities for the lengthy and laborious conversations. Define your new environment early on and in the language you want to learn.

　　很多人会直盯着你的眼睛，坚定地告诉你学习语言的唯一方法就是搬到你的目的语言国家那去住。虽然严格意义上讲这并不是正确的，但是这明显使得融入式学习变得更加可能。但你仍需找机会进行有一定长度并对你来说比较费力的对话。学习伊始及在学习自己想要学的语言过程中，你必须认清新的学习环境。

　　2. Speaking with natives for one hour is more useful than studying for weeks at school

　　When you’re just starting out, equip yourself with questions. As you stumble through your first exchanges, you may sometimes perceive yourself as an eye-rollingly tedious conversation partner. Remember that people love to talk about themselves. Expand the range of questions you ask when you meet people and prepare your own answers.

　　开始学习语言时，带着问题学习。在第一次跟别人交谈时，你有时可能会觉得自己眼睛一直在打转，是个很无聊的聊天对象。要记住人们喜欢谈论自己。跟别人聊天时拓宽问题的范围，并准备好自己的答案。

　　3. Blur the lines between your free time and your learning time

　　空闲，学习两不误

　　There’s a great Eddie Izzard sketch where he pokes fun at the morose inactivity of British film when compared with the bombastic sensationalism of Hollywood. Different countries tell stories differently, and they often have a whole cast of acting royalty that is barely known beyond their borders.

　　当艾迪·伊扎德在将英国电影与哗众取宠的好莱坞电影做比较时，他那戏谑英国电影沉闷无聊的段子还是很经典的。国家不同，描述事情的方式也不同，而且通常他们有自己一整套的标准规范，其他国家的人是不知道。

　　4.Travel as much as you possibly can

　　世界那么大，一定要多出去看看

　　If you travel, you will enjoy the enormous utility of languages first-hand. Your languages will facilitate your movements, ensure a richer diversity of more authentic experiences, and may well even reduce the cost of your trip.

　　如果你出去旅行，那你就会很频繁地直接用到各种语言。语言说多了就会加速自己的行动，保证亲身体验的多样性，还可能会减少旅程的花费哦。

　　5. Take control of your own class

　　我的课堂我做主

　　How would you like to learn? How do you think you learn best? Do you know the answers to these questions? Have you ever asked yourself these questions? Remember that the most important question is how you like to learn, not how you learn best. If you enjoy the learning process, you’ll stick to it, and even if it takes a little longer, who cares? You’re enjoying it, after all. So relocate your class to a park, listen to music in your new language while walking to work, or best of all, meet up with a friend who’s a native speaker or also learning, and immerse yourself in the simple pleasures of coffee and conversation, just like the protagonists of our video.

　　你想怎样学习呢?你认为自己怎样学习效果最好呢?你知道这些问题的答案么?你是否问过自己这些问题呢?一定要记着，最重要的问题是你想怎样学习，而非你怎样学得最好。如果你很享受学习的过程，坚持下去了，即使要很长一段时间，谁又会在乎这些呢?毕竟，你乐在其中。所以把教室搬到公园里去吧，走路上班时听着这门新语言的歌，或者最好是跟母语是你新学的这门语言、或也在学这门语言的朋友见见面啥的，将自己置身于咖啡和交流所带来的愉悦之中，就像视频里的主角那样。
