公共假期

　　▍不论是在英国还是美国，"公共假期"都是用holiday来表示，比如：

　　Christmas holiday 圣诞假期

　　New Year Holiday 新年假期

　　National Holiday 法定假期

　　你接下来的假期有什么计划?

　　度假

　　▍在英国和澳大利亚等国家，“度假”和“公共假期”一样，也用holiday来表示

　　Sara is going to England on her 10-day holiday.

　　Sara要去英国度假10天。

　　▍而美国人就比较特殊，人们通常用vacation来表示“度假”

　　- Where are you going for your vacation?

　　- I'd rather have a staycation.

　　- 你接下来去哪里度假啊?

　　休息日

　　▍除去公休和长假，平常不上班或不上学短期的轮休或休息日，用day off 表示

　　- When is your day off this week?

　　- I'm off at the weekend, but I want to ask another day off on Friday.

　　- 你这周哪天休息?

　　- 我周末休息，但是我想周五再请一天假
