　　It was nearly a flashback to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye West pretended to take the stage when Beck won the Grammy for Album of the Year for Morning Phase. However, he wasn't joking, as he noted afterward in a long rant to E! that he's there to "fight for creativity" and that Beck should've given the award to Beyonce (whom he also defended to Taylor Swift in 2009). Beck, like everyone else, thought it was a joke in the moment, and asked him to come onstage with him, though he didn't.
