剑桥雅思13出来后,很多同学都积极刷题,为了能第一时间了解更新的题目动向。为配合大家备考复习,朱博老师将剑13的口语话题进行解析,给大家参考思路。
剑13Test2 Part 1
1. Are you happy to be the age you are now?
To be honest, not really, ‘cause I could definitely feel my age right now, I really miss the good old days when I could party all I wanted without feeling tired, you know, when I felt I had endless energy.
feel your age: 感受到自己变老,尤其跟年轻人比
2. When you were a child, did you think a lot about your future?
No, not at all. When I was little, I didn’t have a care in the world. All I thought about every day was eat, sleep and play. I never thought about what kind of person I would become or what kind of job I would do when I grow up. I guess most kids are just like me.
3. Do you think you have changed as you have got older?
Yeah, definitely! I used to be pretty quiet, especially when I was around strangers, but now, as I’ve gotten older, I become more talkative and sociable. And I’m quite happy about this change ‘cause it has become easier for me to make friends.
4. What will be different about your life in the future?
Well, in the foreseeable future, I couldn't see anything different about my life, but then again, no one is 100% sure about what the future holds, I mean, I might win the lottery and become a billionaire, who knows?
Part 2:
Describe a time when you started using a new technological device (e.g. a new computer or phone).
I still remember the first time I used my new iphone X.
When I hold it in my hands, it just feels so smooth. Plus, the wireless charging is super convenient.
The most interesting new feature is that I can unlock my phone with a glance. Apple calls it Face ID. My phone recognizes me even in the dark and will adapt to my physical changes, so it makes my face my secure password, now with just a look, I can authenticate my phone or use Apple Pay. This design is the first of its kind, so it’s super cool.
And I spent the whole afternoon experiencing the True Depth Camera Technology. This new phone can bring emojis to life by mapping my facial muscles in real time. So this new technology makes chatting with my friends much more fun.
And as a shutterbug, this new phone is really useful. I mean, now both front and rear facing camera have portrait mode, and for the first time I can actually define the light in a scene. Magically, it can produce the effect of real studio lighting. Besides, the camera detects elements in the scene to optimize the image before the photo is even taken. So cool, right?
From that day on, this phone became my favorite toy.
shutterbug: 超级喜欢拍照的人
Part 3:
Technology and education
1. What is the best age for children to start computer lessons?
Well, there’s not a definite age when children should start taking computer classes, but in my opinion, the sooner the better, ‘cause I believe it could help with the development of children’s intelligence. And computers are a useful tool in our modern society, mastering this practical skill can give them an advantage over others in any situation.
2. Do you think that schools should use more technology to help children learn?
Yeah, definitely, I strongly believe that technology could bring a boring class back to life, I mean, all those multimedia devices would absolutely spice things up. For example, if you want to teach students something about the culture of, say Halloween, why don’t you just play a video of what people usually do on that day instead of just reading the textbook? And in medical school, I heard VR technology is already available in the class, students could have a better understanding of the structure of human body, which is more fun than just watching the illustrations in the book.
spice something up: 使…变得更加有趣或刺激
3. Do you agree or disagree that computers will replace teachers one day?
I don’t think teachers can be replaced by computers, ‘cause the interaction between real humans is just irreplaceable. Education is not just about teaching and learning facts, it’s also about human connection. Teachers are not only responsible for improving students’ academic performance, they should also be able to help students solve emotional problems and give moral support.
Technology and society
1. How much has technology improved how we communicate with each other?
Well, I have to say, technology has dramatically changed the way we keep in touch with people. In the past, maybe 20 years ago, when we want to contact our friends or family members, we could only make phone calls, send text messages or even letters, but now, thanks to technology, we could video chat, send emails and things like that.
2. Do you agree that there are still many more major technological innovations to be made?
Yeah, maybe I’ve watched too many science fictions, but I believe some of the plots in those TV shows and movies will become a reality one day in the future. For example, we could implant chips in our brain to store information, or upload our memories onto the cloud so that even if we die physically, we could continue living on the cloud mentally. I just can’t help having those fantasies, you know.
3. Could you suggest some reasons why some people are deciding to reduce their use of technology?
Well, maybe they think that technology has negatively influenced their normal daily life, I mean, cellphones and the Internet has made it incredibly easier for us to be reached by others, like our boss, coworkers and clients. Sometimes they just need to have a break, but their phones just won’t stop ringing, and emails just keep flooding in, which can be really annoying. So for them, it would be really nice to turn off their electronic devices and have a little bit of me-time.
