1. Describe a person you know who protects the environment
2. Describe a teenager you know
3. Describe a childhood friend you remember well
4. Describe a talkative person you know
I’d like to talk about my neighbor who’s like a super environmentalist.
Actually it’s uncommon for a teenager to have such an awareness of environmental issues, but if you knew his parents, then you wouldn’t be surprised ‘cause they are both loyal supporters of a green lifestyle. His mom always tells him that everyone has a part to play in protecting the planet and there’s so much we could do as individuals.
He never buys or uses any products that are not eco-friendly.
For example, he never uses disposable chopsticks and he barely orders takeout, ‘cause his parents told him, countless trees are cut down each year because of this, and I heard, when he was a baby, his parents never even bought disposable diapers, unbelievable, uh!
Oh, I remember once, I ran into him in a supermarket, and I saw him carrying a shopping bag with him, I mean, it was not a plastic bag that supermarket offered. He told me, it would take ages for those plastic bags to decompose, which is a huge burden to our earth and they are the cause of white pollution.
Speaking of which, his parents taught him garbage classification when he was really young. He knows exactly what materials are recyclable or not.
He also likes to travel in a green way. He prefers to take public transportation, and sometimes he would carpool with some of our neighbors.
So you see, he’s an extraordinary teenager and he should definitely be our role model.
I’d like to talk about my old neighbor whom I basically grew up with.
He’s not like any other kids, I mean, normally, when you and your playmate get together, you would talk about toys or cartoons, right? But that was not the case with us, every time we saw each other, he would go on and on about how to protect the environment.
I know it’s uncommon for a kid to have such an awareness of environmental issues, but if you knew his parents, then you wouldn’t be surprised ‘cause they are both loyal supporters of a green lifestyle. His mom always tells him that everyone has a part to play in protecting the planet and there’s so much we could do as individuals, and I guess that includes telling your friends to be an environmentalist as well.
When we eat out in some restaurants, he just never stops talking about the harm disposable chopsticks could do to our environment. He told me, countless trees are cut down each year because of this.
Oh, I remember once, I ran into him in the supermarket, and I saw him carrying a shopping bag with him, I mean, it was not a plastic bag that supermarket offered. He told me, it would take ages for those plastic bags to decompose, which is a huge burden to our earth and they are the cause of white pollution.
Speaking of which, he also taught me garbage classification when we were just kids. So… thanks to him, now I have a pretty green lifestyle as well.
