题目:
Some people believe that university students should pay all the cost of studies because university education only benefits students themselves not the society as a whole. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
范文:
Intellectuals and professionals from universities are in such great demand that governments with vision have been taking measures, mainly financial ones, to encourage more high school graduates to enter universities. These investments on college students are mainly because further technological advance that the well-educated can bring about is what the economic prosperity in the modern society really counts on. Some people propose but I strongly disagree that undergraduates and their family should bear the entire costs of higher education for the reason that they are the only beneficiaries.
Graduates from colleges are critical for both economic progress and social well-being. The scientific personnel in different fields generally consist of those with master and doctor degrees through which their intelligence has been sharpened. Afterwards, they may provide solid scientific evidence, introduce new technology and eventually promote productive efficiency. Apart from the superior ones, college graduates through years of learning then devote themselves as doctors, lawyers, designers, architects, civil servants and so on, who may draw enviable annual salaries but still serve the residents in meaningful ways.
It is therefore reasonable to provide incentives and aids for students enrolled. Those who cannot afford the tuition can apply for grants or loans and this sort of support is a reflection of social equality, a factor to stabilize the society. The scholarship, either set up by the authorities or enterprises, motivates the youth in the pursuit of knowledge as they immediately acknowledge that diligence and excellence are rewarding. Many businesses are also funding and later signing college students in order to secure the quality and quantity of new employees.
In conclusion, it is tangible that university graduates benefit themselves as well as the society and the idea aforementioned is short-sighted and indifferent.
