Some professors allow students who have not done well on graded assignments during a course to do additional assignments in order to improve their overall course grade. Do you think this is a good idea?

范文：

Well, I don’t think this is a good idea. Because it’s not fair for the students who work hard and get better grades. Obviously, the students who fail don’t take the courses seriously. They don’t spend much time previewing the study materials and reviewing the class notes like the other students do. And if they can improve their grades by doing something else, those hard-working students would not feel motivated to study anymore. In addition, the additional assignments would also create difficulties and obligations for professors, since they have to put in extra time and energy designing new assignments and grading them. It would just take up too much of their time. And it just wouldn’t be fair for professors either.
