  美国00后很喜欢用一些网络流行语,就像我们的yyds一样,自然是在字典里查不到的,此时我们就需要求助Urban Dictionary或者HiNative,看看Gen Z(95后及00后的年青一代)时常挂在嘴边的口头禅是什么意思吧!

  1. Gucci = a versatile slang term based on the luxury fashion brand meaning OK, good, great, awesome, fresh and cool. (Since Gucci is phonetically similar to the word “good”, it is used as slang for that word.)

  这个俚语可以形容的事情有很多,所有你感觉很棒很酷的东西或情况都可以用。例如:

“How’s it going?” “It’s all Gucci.” “We’re Gucci.” (Everything is going really well.)

  2. cheugy = the opposite of trendy, American Gen Zers normally use it to describe something embarrassingly out of date. Cheugy is often used to describe millennials (people born between 1981-1996), especially those considered to be trying too hard to be trendy.

Cheugy是trendy的反义词,Gen Z通常用它来形容过时的东西。年青一代经常用它来形容“老年人”用力过猛的打扮。在线Collins词典上可以查到这个单词,它的释义是“not trendy or cool; outdated, used on TikTok.” 例如:

OMG look at her outfit, so cheugy!

  3. sheesh = It’s used to show excitement toward delicious food, or to express your amazement.

  这个来自于tiktok的口头禅可以用来表达看到美食后的兴奋,或者表达看到难以置信的事物后的惊叹、失望或愤怒。例如:

Sheesh. I invited at least 10 people to my birthday party, but only 4 people came…

Sheesh!! I was totally black out after the drinking game last night.

Sheesh! This egg tart is so good!

  4. cap = a slang to indicate that someone is lying and not telling the truth. While “no cap” means “I’m not lying. It’s true. For real.”

  在网络用语里,输入cap或者棒球帽的表情,表示有人在说谎,没有说真话。所以no cap的意思就是“这是真的,我没说谎,没骗你。”例如:

“His Chinese is so good.” “No cap!”

He’s the best, no cap. (No joke.)

  5. salty = Being salty is when you are upset over something little.

  如果你会因为一点儿小事就不开心,那么别人就可以形容你很salty.

I don’t want to invite her to my party. She’s so salty.

  Don’t be salty. It’s just a game.

  6. sus = sus is short for suspicious. It means someone is acting weird or being dishonest.

  Sus是suspicious的缩写,用来形容一个人的行为很可疑,或不诚实。例如:

  He’s acting sus.

  7. ded = ded is a humorous, often ironic, deliberate misspelling of dead. (Ded means dead, only better.) It could replace lol (laugh out loud) or lmao (laugh my ass off).

  Ded是故意写错的dead. 表示去世,不过一般是好的那种去世,比如啊我要乐死了,笑死我了。例如:

OMG, stop telling that joke. I’m ded.

  8. simp = a simp is someone who shows excessive attention to the person they like. Someone who spends all of their time or money on a girl, even if the girl doesn’t like them back. It’s generally used as an insult for such people.

  Simp是那种过度讨好自己喜欢的人的一类人,类似于我们说的“舔狗”。例如:

What a poor simp Tom is!

  9. amirite = If you try to read it out loud, you will know amirite means “am I right?” It’s like raise your hand if you agree.”

  如果你尝试把这个词读出来,你就会知道它的意思是“对吧!我说的没错吧!”它类似于“有同感的请举手。”例如:

So, basically, my husband is the luckiest man on Earth, amirite.

College admissions essays are exercises in creative writing, amirite?!

  10. YKTV = This slang sounds like a name of a TV station. Similar to Chinese slang yyds, there are many acronyms in American slang. So YKTV means “you know the vibe” – “you know what’s up”, “you know how it is”.

  这个俚语听起来有点儿像个电视台的名字,但其实它是个首字母缩略语,类似中文里的yyds,美国也有很多缩写的流行语。YKTV的意思是“你懂的,你明白的。”例如:

If you’re having fun, like at a pool party with your friends, you could post a photo and caption it “YKTV”.
