　　平遥位于中国山西省中部，是一个有着2700多年历史的古老城市。它是明淸时期汉族城市的一个典范。它的城墙、街道、住宅、店铺和庙宇都保留得异常完好，极富特色。同时，居住在平遥的人民依然保留着许多传统。这个与世隔绝的古城功能特殊、布局(layout)合理。城墙是由黑色的砖砌成，已经经历了600多年的风雨洗礼，一直保存完好。现在它已经成为古城的一个标志了。
