　　中国的家庭观念与其文化传统有关。和睦的大家庭曾非常令人羡慕。过去四代同堂并不少见。由于这个传统，许多年轻人婚后继续与父母同住。今天，这个传统正在改变。随着住房条件的改善，越来越多年轻夫妇选择与父母分开住。但他们之间的联系依然很密切。许多老年人仍然帮着照看孙辈。年轻夫妇也抽时间探望父母，特别是在春节和中秋节等重要节日。

It was not uncommon to see four generations live together in the past. It is for this tradition that many a young couple often lives with their parents after the wedding ceremony. However, such a tradition is changing nowadays. With the housing conditions improved, more and more young couples make the decision of not to live with their parents, with whom they still keep in close touch. For instance, quite a few grandparents continue to look after their grandchildren, while the young couple would find time to visit their parents, especially in the Spring Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival and so on.

　　中国家庭十分重视孩子的教育。许多父母认为应该努力工作，确保孩子受到良好的教育。他们不仅非常情愿为孩子的教育投资，而且花很多时间督促他们学习。多数家长希望孩子能上名牌大学。由于改革开放，越来越多的家长能送孩子到国外学习或参加国际交流项目，让其拓宽视野。通过这些努力，他们期望孩子健康成长，为国家的发展和繁荣做出贡献。

To guarantee that their children can enjoy a better education, it is believed by many parents that they should devote themselves to their work. Not only are they willing to invest in their children’s learning, but they also spend much time supervising their study. Besides, the majority of parents are with the hope that their children can be admitted by renowned universities. With the reform and opening up, more and more parents can send their children abroad for further education and international exchange programs, which can broaden their horizon. Such efforts taken, they hope that their children can grow up healthily and make contributions to China's development and prosperity.

　　本篇难度适中，主要考查的是中国家庭对于教育的看法。家庭教育话题在2015年12月的四六级翻译中都曾出现过，很多表达近乎原题。词汇方面考察“重视、情愿、投资、督促、名牌，交流项目”等实词，例如督促的根本意思就是“supervise”考生应当注意日常积累;短语方面考察“努力工作、拓宽视野，做出贡献、改革开放”等历年真题和日常练习中经常出现的内容，比如拓宽视野最常见就是“broaden one’s horizon”，但整体难度不算大。整体句式考察结构较为简单，大多靠标点符号进行断句，例如“他们不仅情愿为孩子的教育投资，而且花很多时间督促他们学习”是典型的not only……but also句型，所以注意并列句式即可，但个别句子要想拿到高分需要注意词性的转换，例如“，越来越多的家长能送孩子到国外学习或参加国际交流项目”这个句子里面的“学习和参加”是十分典型的动词，但是很多时候我们会把它处理成“for”这个介词即可，通俗简练。

　　中国汉族人的全名由姓和名组成。中文姓名的特点是，姓总是在前，名跟在其后，千百年来，父姓一直世代相传。然而，如今，孩子跟母亲姓并不罕见。一般来说，名有一个或两个汉字，通常承载父母对孩子的愿望。从孩子的名字可以推断出父母希望孩子成为什么样的人，或者预期他们过什么样的生活。父母非常重视给孩子取名，因为名字往往会伴随孩子一生。

　　The full name of Han people in China is made up of the family name and the given name. The characteristic of a Chinese name is that surname goes before given name. For thousands of years, people always follow their father’s surname from generation to generation. However, it is not rare that mother’s surname is used today. In general, Chinese name contains one or two characters, bearing parents' wishes. Through their names, we can tell what their parents expect their children to be, and what life they hope them to live. Parents pay great attention to the naming of children for the reason that it will be with them throughout their lives.
