disgrace

　　A person that is so bad that people connected with him or her feel or should feel ashamed. 就是“丢脸的人”。

　　比如我们看狗血的肥皂剧里很常见的一句台词：“你简直让整个家族蒙羞!”就可以说成：You are a disgrace to the family.

　　corner

　　Corner somebody = to get a person or an animal into a place or situation from which they cannot escape. 这个意思的时候通常使用被动形式。例如：

　　The criminal was finally cornered by police into a dead end.

　　ride one’s coat-tails / on one’s coat-tails

　　To use the success and influence of another person to help yourself become successful. 就是我们俗称的：沾光，占便宜。比如：

　　She got where she is today on her brother’s coat-tails.
